8 Tracks Of Disco

Image
The 1970's brought the 8 track tape player.I didn't really understand them then and I don't until this day. They were soon replaced by the smaller and less bulky cassette tapes. Records were still a big seller in the 1970's but I think everyone owned a combo record player/8 track tape machine. Here's a fun blast from the past commercial from 1975  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3YyoC_-nQk

1960's Transistor Radio

Image
The portable music player you could take anywhere! Even to the beach as this fox girl is enjoying her music.Don't forget the batteries! Here is an early 1960's ad for these radios  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlcYV60oR8U https://www.deviantart.com/flapperfoxy

Rock n Roll Sweet 16

Image
Another 1950's inspired picture. The portable record player had been around a while, but this 1950's era "suitcase" model was popular with the teens. Going to a party? Just fold it up and take it along to play your favorite 45 records! Here's a link to one of these models  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9qMvCfIs0g

Hi-Fi Stereo Mice

Image
These late 1950's mice are enjoying their new stereo system. The 33 lp (long play) record came out in 1948 as did the smaller 45 record, replacing the 78 rpm record in a few years. The first stereo album came out around 1957-58.  These stereo consoles were big and produced great sound! I own one that sadly no longer works, but I hope to have it restored one day. Two Rabbits, One Pose

Image
My gladiator rabbit, Flamma.  A tight situation, granted, but don't count him out yet.  He does have a mouth on him, you may have noticed. Cesare Borgia, late of the College of Cardinals, deals with some less than competent would be assassins outside of his dad's apartment, the Apostolic Palace, Vatican City.  Cesare was so patently unsuited for an ecclesiastical career he was the allowed to resign the red hat, the first of only 7 to do so.  Dead at 31, he was one of the most interesting persons in history..  The best description of Cesare is 'ambitious'. Just Between You And Me...

Image
Pssst!  Yeah, you.  C'mere.  I sent the bee out for coffee to the other side of town, I told the driver to leave him at Starbucks, he'll have to walk back.   See, he don't know it but I have a great comic he drew and he's too shy to put it up himself, a real wallflower that kid is.  So, while he's gone now is your chance to read it, trust me, you'll be glad you did.  I'll be consulting with these two aerobics instructors I paid...I invited to come over while Andy is trudging all that way, he'll probably be too tired to be cross when he gets back.  Just in case, I locked the doors and turned the front lights out, all that rain sounds great in a dimly lit room.  So, take a gander at this, and know a great comic talent has burst on the scene. I'm already in talks with Disney but let's just keep that our little secret, huh? https://misterscribbles.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-bad-shepard.html Enjoy!

Jukebox Jive

Image
Believe it or not, some types of jukeboxes had been around since the early 1900's. These were not the flashy brightly colored machines that came later in the century. The nickelodeon was an early forerunner of the jukebox that cost-you guessed it-a nickel to play music. The modern jukebox came along later-these dancers from the 1940's are jiving to the sounds!
