Standby For 2021, Folks!

Oh, but humans are funny.  Here we go again!  This delightful laughing rabbit is from the Rosenthal Ceramic company in Bavaria.  First made in  1929, it was designed by Max Hermann Fritz.  This one probably was fired after 1957.  I paid five bucks for it.  It's name is The Laughing Hare. https://www.auktionshaus-stahl.de/en/artist/1640-max-hermann-fritz A laughing rabbit is no laughing matter, at all.

Indeed. Air start of a seaplane race, in the 1930s on Spontoon Island. Colour for this image by Taral Wayne.  November 1932 - Spontoon Island Lagoon. The Pumpkin Pie Season begins! Early in the morning of 1 November, the first pies are distributed to visitors and guests by neighborhood volunteer servers. The servers here are performing one of the first-morning pie-walk server dances. (Not all the pie-sharing is this lively. Other traditional parts of a Spontoonie breakfast may be served by the servers.) Free pies from the local co-op bakers are distributed to early morning parties at the neighborhood picnic areas and gathering-booths. More free pies (or pie-slices) are delivered for breakfasts via co-op trucks (and some delivery boats) to distribution locations. With advance notice, free pumpkin pies will be delivered in time for breakfast to apartment buildings, hotels, & resorts, for interested visitors and tourists.   Pies are also delivered from new batches, baked t

Next up in my series of vintage/retro hats and hairstyles,my favorite decade, the 1920's! Here we have Loxie in her favorite hat. The most popular hat in the 1920's was the cloche style seen here,a close-fitting hat that could be adorned with feathers, ribbons,or faux jewels like Loxie is wearing.

The day before Christmas I had to go to the Walmart pharmacy to get my mom her meds.  As I was waiting behind a very old man who was wearing a cap that said Marines on it, I noticed all this greenish liquid all over the floor.  I was wearing my superboots so I touched a toe in this and it was still very wet.  The old man was having trouble, and suddenly he revealed this object the size of a soccer ball.  It was wet and slime encrusted, the same color as the stuff on the floor.  Although I have never seen one, I knew it was his colostomy bag.  That meant that he had been standing in line with that thing dripping, and did nothing about it.  One of the clerks was dabbing at him with a paper towel, while he was going on and on about how he had changed it right before he came up to the store.  I doubt he had and I decided he was senile.  God, how awful.  I felt bad for him, and I wondered when he was at the Chosin Resevoir whether he ever thought that he would end up like th

Billy sat by the pool in the 100 degree heat and practiced marksmanship with his old pump air pistol.  He got loaded on beer and smoke, bunnies are known for their intemperate ways and iron heads.  A bird landed on the target tree and he sang his little heart out.  Billy has never missed anything at less than 20 feet with any make of weapon in his life.  God is seeing whether Billy learned a damn thing about keeping his word.  Besides, the rabbit was out of ammo.   https://misterscribbles.blogspot.com/
