Hi Guys!

Andrew the Bee here with a picture from my artist buddy, Cliff!  He's been tryin' to get Wendy to pose for him, so he whipped up this thing to show how much talent he's got!

La Grande Bla-Bla, by Cliff!
Turns out Cliff just copied it from this French Guy, J. A. D. Ingres, who lived so long ago that his stuff is now public domain!  Here's the picture that Cliff was looking at:

La Grande Odalisque, by Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres, Paris, Louvre

The funny thing about Ingres is that he didn't care about drawing people right!  That's why Cliff likes him so much -- He's a great inspiration for guys who don't know anatomy!  'Course Ingres sure as heck knew how to draw -- He was just fudging things to make his people look good!

Cliff's an alright guy, but he ain't much of an artist.   I sure hope Wendy tells him to take a hike!

"I paint what I feel, baby!"

  1. Canova was originally commissioned to depict Pauline fully clothed as the chaste goddess Diana, however Pauline insisted on posing as nude as Venus. When asked whether she was not uncomfortable being naked before the artist, Pauline replied, “Ah, but there was a fire in the room.”

    1. Ha ha! Pauline is Cliff's kind of girl, for sure. Too bad he doesn't have Canova's talent!
