A Horse, No Wait, a Kangaroo of a Different Color!

Hi Guys!

I forgot to tell you that it was Wendy who started the whole sculpture thing!  She sat for my pal, Jennifer, who made this bust in bronze!  You'll notice that Wendy ditched her glasses for this...

This was pretty cool, but it seemed like maybe there wasn't enough contrast between the pedestal and the bust itself.  So Jennifer decided to change the patina.  "What's a patina" you ask?  Well, that's just the surface color of the sculpture!  Bronze and a lot of other metals can take on all kinds of different colors, depending on how they interact with air, water, and various chemicals and temperatures.  That's why old pennies are sometimes green, sometimes, brown, sometimes, black, and sometimes almost red!

At the sculpture foundry, you can control what color your bronze will be, so this is what Jennifer did:

Looks great, huh?  Wendy thinks so and I do tooRemember, if you can't paint or sculpt, the next best thing is to ask an artist to do it for you!  If your head is screwed-on right, you and the artist will bring your dreams into reality and make the world a better place

    1. Thanks! I have to hand it to Jennifer -- Furry is not her natural inclination and she did a great job with this.

  2. I like the way Jennifer did this -- very late Victorian with the bust mounted to the pedestal as it is, and the blouse tied just so.
