One Great Subject, Two Great Artists

Here's a little homage to harbinger-project!  His creative interpretation of the "Arthur" characters is really appealing in that it takes the innocence of the originals and relocates it in a grown-up and more contemporary milieu.  This is a world where one can wear a lavender-colored sailor suit and not be hassled for it.  Which is how things should be. :-)

The Cockroach Union and Waterbugs Protective Association

      Hi Guys! I'm back with some more anthro bug weirdness courtesy of Peterman's Roach Food!   This stuff was designed to kill cockroaches and other insect vermin way back in the early 1900s !  It came in a bright red tin covered with microscopic pictures that tell a most distressing story !  Seems that the bugs are up in arms because something is killing them off !  They have formed a " protective association " and are marching in protest kind of like Coxey's Army !           But it's no good !  All that marching has worked up the bugs' appetites !  So they check in to chow down on some of that delicious " roach food ."  Too bad it's poison !  One by one, the roaches eat the tainted feast and they croak , right there on the package !     Man, that's tough !  But I guess if you've got cockroaches marching around in your kitchen , this is how you deal with them !   One of the interesting things about this old tin is that the d

Early in the morning of 1 November, the first pies are distributed to visitors and guests by neighborhood volunteer servers. The servers here are performing one of the first-morning pie-walk server dances. (Not all the pie-sharing is this lively. Other traditional parts of a Spontoonie breakfast may be served by the servers.) Free pies from the local co-op bakers are distributed to early morning parties at the neighborhood picnic areas and gathering-booths.
