Pigs with Problems

Image
Hi Guys! Did you ever wonder what goes through a pig's head when he knows that his destiny is to be made into lard ?  Well, it turns out that most pigs are up for that , at least according to N. K. Fairbank and Company ! Back in the 1880s and 1890s , Fairbank was one of the biggest producers of lard around!  You're probably thinking "lard, who in heck wants that ??"  Well, before they invented vegetable oil , you needed lard to cook with !  If you were going to fry anything, you had to have lard, or put in layman's terms, pig fat ! Well, pig fat and killing animals are pretty gross , no doubt!  And if anybody hated gross things , it was the Victorians !  So how do you sell the idea of pig fat?  You make a joke out of it , that's how!  You create a whole advertising campaign out of these anthro pigs whose only desire in life is to die !  So they can be made into grease for cooking! To make it even funnier , you ...

Impressionist Art - Shelagh the Roo and Kiki Shanji the Eastern Dragon

Image
What better way to explore themes and concepts than with an impressionist art movement and sensibility. Speaking of which this style will defiantly be featured in the comic in a more tonal way, well it probably already is, but the reason behind this interest is the discovery of a more complex emotional or aesthetic influences and sensitivity in approach.  I have always liked this way of creating art and for me I really like extreme aspect of the unknown and mystery in art, that is what will capture fans and attention, instead of my basic drawings/sketches which is very common on DA.  A recent character reference/practice sheet I have devised because I felt I needed to draw this character on his own. Comic character background and implementation: The barracks are in desperate need of recruits to keep defences up, this little guy is a minor working as intel and messenger with the classification of Recon. He can traverse much of the castle fast by fitting through ...

Lightning Ladder

Image
Hi Guys! Just when I thought Cliff had his poo-poo together, he goes up the mountain and starts talkin’ to strangers !     He said the nice deer lady told him to wait for the storm , and when Father Sky spoke, that’s when he should climb the ladder !   Old Cliff was up there for who-knows-how-long , but no storm .   So he made a picture of the deer lady while he waited .   After a while, he ran out of mushroom sandwiches and he had to come back down again.   Artists , man!   They’re just different , know what I mean ? *******

Quarter!

Flamma would hate to kill such a worthy and handsome opponent.  The panda fought hard and deserves the missa.  Even if ordered to kill him, the Bloody Bunny is known for disobedience.  Not that refusal would help the bear, but the rabbit would have made his point.  Flamma is far too big a draw to kill or maim, part of the reason for his popularity.  The other reason is that he is the deadliest fighter in New Rome and, after all, the Wolf himself wants to see the bunny die in the arena.  Horribly, if at all possible. Furry killers have been around for a very long time. https://misterscribbles.blogspot.com/

The Secret Of Qyl

Image
“Are you comfortable?” the seated figure asked his guest.     The nobleman sitting across the table affected a very distinctive, very strange appearance. He elected to cover nearly every inch of flesh on his body, including parts of his face. Strangely shaped velvet gloves in black covered his hands and forearms, hose and boots covering his legs, strangely elaborate collar and frills running all down the back, and large hat with what might have been a wig under it. The ears remained hidden.     Montag, in his relatively simple clothes, felt somewhat overwhelmed at the sight of his host “Within reason sir.”     “I'm sure you have heard something of my reputation? They say I'm quite the idler, don't they?”     “I may have heard something to that affect, Mister Qyl.”     “You may be frank with me.” Qyl's eyes seemed to deepen. “Didn't old Mister Veldair try to enlist you...
