A Stubborn Bunny

Image
There are tigers in Africa, of course, Andrew the Bee has proven that.  He and a certain truculent rabbit are engaged in exploring the Lake Regions, and if Billy has a history with some long memoried felines that is no reason to delay the trip.   Dammit, Billy, we have places to go and things to do! https://misterscribbles.blogspot.com/2020/01/jungle-comics-safari.html

Ambush At Forlorn Hope

The soldiers he used to serve with were much tougher and stronger than he was.  Enhancement only works on natural aptitudes, and strength was not deemed important for his assignment.  His attribute was speed.  Billy always wanted to be strong and tall like the others, he worked hard trying to impress them.  Most of them were great, strapping cats and wolves, and there was a big panda who was quiet and professional.   Tonight they were lying flat under the stars, and most were dead.  Their Command Timberwolf looked very fierce as he glared in the direction of the attack, but his body was missing, not that the rabbit or anyone else was looking. The hidden Grasscutter© caught the platoon as they were starting to sprint for the attack.  Private Bunny was out front as point due to his tremendous speed and small stature.  There was no sound or light, just the bursts of protoplasm transformed at light speed into steam. Apparently someone ha...

Undefeated

Out of the night that covers me,       Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be       For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance       I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance       My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears       Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years       Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate,       How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate,       I am the captain of my soul. William Ernest Henley, Invictus .  1920.

Sgt Billy D Bastian and the Green Agenda Hypocrisy

Freedom and saving the Environment from climate change..hmmm...I was walking by a vast piece of open land that's now under development. A once natural countryside, teaming with all the biodiversity my eye's used to fervently admire - wildlife, mighty healthy Trees, all types of wildflowers. flora and fauna, insects, it must've been that way since time began know doubt, well i'm no geographer but anyways, as I approached a giant Sign on the perimeter of this development site, it stated, ''We are pleased to inform the local area that 20 green energy Homes are being constructed to help save the Environment''...I actually started laughing at the Hypocrisy this sign was promoting. the countryside was gone..raised to the ground... I thought to myself, '' They have to now destroy the environment to save it?'' kind of says it all really, we create the crisis, and then Shout, Climate Change !, we need to go green ! we can’t save the...

The Black Rabbit Is Never Far From Us

Image
"The wind is blowing, blowing over the grass. It shakes the willow catkins; the leaves shine silver. Where are you going, wind? Far, far away Over the hills, over the edge of the world. Take me with you, wind, high over the sky. I will go with you, I will be rabbit-of-the-wind, Into the sky, the feathery sky and the rabbit. The stream is running, running over the gravel, Through the brooklime, the kingcups, the blue and gold of spring. Where are you going, stream? Far, far away Beyond the heather, sliding away all night. Take me with you, stream, away in the starlight. I will go with you, I will be rabbit-of-the-stream, Down through the water, the green water and the rabbit. In autumn the leaves come blowing, yellow and brown. They rustle in the ditches, they tug and hang on the hedge. Where are you going, leaves? Far, far away Into the earth we go, with the rain and the berries. Take me, leaves, O take me on your dark journey. I will go with you, I will be rabbit-of-the-leaves, ...
