Betty Boop-As A "Furry"?

Image
That's right-one of the most beloved cartoon characters started out as a anthro dog character! Betty was mostly designed by Grim Natwick, who later went on to Disney fame as the main character designer of Snow White!  Betty looked pretty much the same, except she had dog ears and a little black nose.  Her first role in "Dizzy Dishes"-1930 After a few cartoons, the dog ears became hoop ear rings and her nose became the little button nose we know now. Another classic cartoon (but very surreal) as her dog character~ Canine or human, she's adorable either way!

Sorrow And Triumph By Victoria Levitskaya

Here is an old man and an old cat who have come to the end of their shared journey.  It is not the artwork but the presentation that I find so heartrending.  The art is good but I see lots of good art without it affecting me like this has.     The little cat holds onto the hand of the person he loves and worships.  The man is ready for their journey and he knows that all eternity stretches before him and his beloved friend.  It is hinted that the man is a person of intelligence and extreme kindness.  The cat accepts his hand and is ready to go with his father wherever fate takes them.  He does not know anything except that only goodness will come to him while he is with his human. The man protects his little friend and always will. An ocean is the visual metaphor of time stretching far beyond any human's comprehension.  This is journey's end and a new adventure at once. These two will be together forever, for love never dies.  It is locked into the time

Giggle Comics #6, March 1944. Rabbits are not to be trusted.  The owl's vaunted intelligence is no more than not being as stupid as everyone else in this comic.  Notice the mention of Superkatt: Superkatt, Dan Gordon.  Superkatt is an ordinary if delusional cat without super powers.  He wears a bonnet, diapers and a bow tie.  The art style is incredibly close to Jack Bradbury's.  https://cartoonresearch.com/index.php/superkatt-his-story/#prettyphoto[12583]/3/ Ha Ha Comics # 81, December 1951.

Mr. Tawny is having some financial issues and he's rightly decided that he needs a second income to help make ends meet!   After opening a come-on in the mail , he sees an opportunity to make some coin as a door-to-door salesman!   It's the kind of job where the sky's the limit and a guy with a winning personality can make a fortune!   Mr. Tawny is, well, sold on the idea.  But as might be expected, things don't work out as pl
