One Year!

Hybrid, the only site of it's kind on the entire web, is now a year old.

We are living proof that anthropomorphic art and story does not have to be pornographic, salacious, or brain-dead retarded.  Or repetitive.

We started of with a huge bang, 800 to 1300 views a day.

Valentine's Day, 2020.  In no time we had a cadre of talented enthusiasts join with us.

There were setbacks, we shrugged those off and kept going.

We took a huge hit in our numbers, falling to under 10 a day.

We could have slid into obscurity, no one would have blamed us if we gave up.

After all, this has been done on the narrowest of budgets.

We knew we had the talent and the skill...

...it was a matter of getting the world's notice.

We have only posted the best, often with the artist's permission.

We have avoided the pitfalls of complacency and tedium, -

- and have intrigued the world!

(I guess 60 odd years ago showing a fox caught in the cruelest of spring traps and a slow-witted cat trying to angle a fish and eat it from a bowl no larger than 6" tall counted as 'funny').  And it is!

We have given much...

...with what we had.

Yes, Hybrid delivers.

We owe it all to our people.  You guys are bodacious!

It's been quite a ride.

25,953 views as of 7pm CST.  We'll have 26,000 by tomorrow, just see if we don't!  (Yes!  26,011 @ 12:51 pm today, the 14th).

It's not the frequency but the quality, and you have more than pulled your weight.

  4. A great selection of cards -- There's something for everyone here! Why, it kinda matches our aspirations for Hybrid itself! Congratulations on one year -- I'm guessing we wouldn't still be here if not for your faithful enthusiasm!

  6. I loved that you found a Louis Wain to add to the Valentine assortment. I've always been fascinated by his work. I'm glad this blog spot is still going. You always have interesting perspectives an showcase some great material.

    1. The The Electrical Life Of Louis Wain movie is scheduled for release later this year, Benedict Cumberbatch starring. Filmed in 2019. Thank you, unknown viewer, I have quite a bit on Wain on my other blog. He is a fave of mine.

    1. These cards are all over the net. I go nuts with retro furry art cards at Easter, that's when you get your more adorable bunny action. And thanks, we try to please!

If you had permission from Louis Wain, I have a commission for him!

Great selection; I've seen a lot of these over the years and I think I've given or received one or two of them when I was a kid!

    1. Louis is one that we assumed wouldn't mind. I wonder how good the movie is going to be, this kind of delay makes me think that there are problems with it. I barely remember Valentine's Day in school, and I don't remember any of the cards. As I recall they were as cheap as they got for the 60s. I'm typing this wearing an East German greatcoat with two sweaters on underneath and knee boots, this is as cold as I have seen it on the coast. This time of year is normally t shirt weather. We have moved several frozen lizards into the garage, hope that helps. I assume it is even colder where you guys are. And what is with the Kitsune not drinking coffee and then stealing sips from you? You have to go cold turkey with these things.
