The only thing is that you know that this picture is going to be mediocre. It has a few high spots, but it’s full of bad taste that is, as I like to put it, tempered by bad judgment. That’s kind of a lousy way to put it, but I feel that way. I’m really rather bitter about the set-up, about some of the people who I thought considered that we were working together, and I find that we really weren’t. Here I am, a person at the height of my powers, and I feel there’s not a place for me anymore. I don’t want to be involved; I can’t fight this thing. And there certainly isn’t a...

You get the idea. Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.    Hummph.  Everyone knows that unstarred Sneeches are lazy, criminal, and smell funny.  Rather my brother on a Honda then my sister with a plainy! ...

Mr. Tawny and the Wild Man

Image
Hi Guys! I'm back with another Mr. Tawny story from the pages of Captain Marvel Adventures for September 1948!   You might remember that Mr. Tawny is a talking anthro tiger who has forsaken his jungle home to hang with humans !  A lot of his adventures are about him trying to fit in , but this time, he's got to help a wild man get acclimated to civilized living !   Captain Marvel Adventures 88, September 1948 To tell the truth , there's not a lot of Mr. Tawny here -- Mostly this story is about Captain Marvel chasing after a cave man .  What's kinda cool is that when Tawny does appear, he seems to be the smartest one in the room !  Check it out and you'll see what I mean !     Seems that all's well that ends well , especially when Captain Marvel is dishing out those atomic punches!   Jungo's been licked , but now he's on his way to becoming a productive member of society , thanks to Mr. Tawny's civilizing influenc...

Childhood Favorites

The jackalope who could not get down off the tall horse, just the best.  And who can forget Spank? I lived for nightly storytime, and all my animal friends made life just that much better.   https://youtu.be/RM_3OQbHDD4      This got both the Newbery and the Caldecott. These wonders of children's books started me on a lifelong love for anthropomorphic art and stories.    Disney was a huge part of growing up. Not all anthropomorphism is furry, you know.   A modern day 'Wind In The Willows'.    I was a huge Foghorn Leghorn fan. Being a kid was magical.    When grandad would read me to sleep he loved to talk about Brenda's beaver. Libraries became a wonderland for me. https://youtu.be/SIFQ95W2OkI

1960's Hairstyles

Image
As we move into the 1960's, hats were more seldom worn in favor of hairstyles. However, the "pillbox" hat-popularized by First Lady Jackie Kennedy-was in style in the early 60's. Here we have the "beehive" hairstyle-it took quite a lot of hairspray for this one! A carefree "flip " style~ A simple and easy two ponytail style-a favorite of young girls of the time~ The hippie "flower child" look~ Here is the art in progress~ Next up-the 1970's!
